Gender euphoria
Gender euphoria refers to the positive feeling that can arise when a person’s gender identity is recognized, respected, or addressed in a way that feels affirming. This can happen through the correct pronouns, a fitting name, appropriate clothing, or a social role that feels accurate. The term is often used in relation to trans, nonbinary, and other gender-diverse people.
Gender euphoria is often seen as a counterpart to gender dysphoria, but it is not simply its opposite. While dysphoria describes discomfort or distress, euphoria refers to a sense of alignment, affirmation, or well-being. Not every person experiences gender euphoria in the same way or with the same intensity; the term mainly helps to highlight positive experiences related to gender.
