Switch / Switcher / Switcherin

A switch is a person who does not want to commit to only one role in BDSM, but instead alternates between the dominant and submissive role depending on the situation, partner, or dynamic. It can also refer to someone who switches between active and passive behavior. The term therefore describes flexibility in role choice and is not a fixed statement about personality or relationship style.

The claim that switches wear a specific ring or chain as a general identifying sign is not reliable and not standardized. Such symbols may be used differently depending on the scene, location, or personal preference, or not used at all. What matters are individual agreements, clear communication, and the meaning the symbols have in the specific context.
