Transfemininity
Transfemininity refers to a gender identity or understanding of gender in which a person does not fully identify with the sex assigned at birth but experiences feminine or partly feminine aspects as fitting. The term is used mainly in German-speaking contexts and can be understood differently depending on the person. It may refer to trans women as well as other transfeminine or non-binary people.
It is important not to confuse transfemininity with outward appearance, body characteristics, or sexual orientation. What matters is the person’s own self-identification. In respectful interaction, the chosen name, pronouns, and individual identity should always take priority.
