Whipping

Whipping refers to striking with a whip or a similar implement. The term can refer both to historical forms of punishment and to BDSM contexts. In BDSM, it usually means a consensual form of pain or discipline, not real punishment.

Even in an erotic setting, whipping remains a risky practice. Poor technique, too much force or striking unsuitable body areas can cause bruising, skin injuries or internal damage. Sensitive areas such as the kidneys, spine, neck, face and joints must never be struck. Experience, clear agreements, a safe setting and the ability to stop immediately are essential.
