Bottom markings
Bottom markings refer to signs or features that symbolize a submissive or lower role within a BDSM dynamic. They can be temporary or permanent and are often associated with belonging, ritual, or personal identity.
These can include jewelry, chains, rings, tattoos, or piercings. Some forms, such as branding or other irreversible procedures, are highly risky and can cause lasting harm; they should not be treated lightly as play. Permanent body changes belong only in long-term, informed, and explicitly consensual contexts.
If they have any meaning, it is as symbolism, not as a replacement for consent or relationship agreements. Real irreversible procedures performed without proper expertise or for commercial reasons are strongly discouraged. Visible markings should never replace consent, care, or clear communication.
