Bridle

Bridle means a piece of tack or headgear used in horse riding. In pony play, the term is used for special head harnesses modeled after horse bridles and worn by ponyboys or ponygirls. Such harnesses are usually made of leather straps or similar materials and may, depending on the design, be equipped with reins, gag systems, or other accessories.

In BDSM contexts, a bridle is mainly used for role-play and visual imitation of the horse image. Fit, material quality, and safe handling are important to prevent pressure marks, breathing problems, or injuries. Accessories with gags or strong restraint should only be used with special caution, clear agreement, and continuous monitoring.
