Enema
An enema refers to the introduction of liquid through the anus into the bowel. Medically, the terms enema, klysma, or bowel irrigation are commonly used; in everyday language, anal rinse or bowel rinse are also used. Enemas are used in medicine, for example, to treat constipation or to cleanse the bowel. The instrument used is also often referred to as an enema or enema kit.
In BDSM, enemas are sometimes used in clinic play or as part of white-elegance/white-erotic scenarios. They may be associated with control, submission, or humiliation. This is a risky practice, however: fluids must never be introduced improvisedly, under pressure, or with unsuitable substances. Only clean, body-safe solutions and suitable, hygienic equipment should be used; if there is pain, bleeding, pre-existing conditions, or uncertainty, it should not be attempted. Vaginal douching should also be approached with caution and is generally not medically recommended.
