Graysexual
Graysexual, also spelled greysexual and sometimes shortened to grey ace or gray ace, describes a sexual orientation on the asexual spectrum. Graysexual people experience sexual attraction rarely, only occasionally, weakly or only under certain circumstances. The term therefore sits between allosexual, meaning regularly experiencing sexual attraction, and asexual, meaning experiencing little or no sexual attraction.
Graysexuality can be both a specific sexual orientation and an umbrella term for different experiences on the asexual spectrum. Some graysexual people experience sexual attraction only in certain relationship situations, after emotional closeness, in rare exceptional cases or with varying intensity. Sexual attraction is not the same as libido, sexual fantasy, masturbation or the choice to have sex or not to have sex.
A graysexual person may have any romantic orientation and may or may not want intimacy, partnership, sex or BDSM. In dating, relationships and BDSM, it is especially important to discuss expectations, boundaries, touch, sexual activities and forms of intimacy openly and without pressure. The label graysexual does not allow general assumptions about relationship capacity, desire, roles or consent.
