Tantra
Tantra is a spiritual tradition originating in Indian religious and philosophical systems, and it includes a variety of meditative and bodily practices. In popular Western usage, the term is often associated with sexuality, mindfulness, and heightened body awareness. It usually involves conscious perception, breathing, touch, and the connection between body and mind.
In erotic or sexual contexts, tantra often focuses on slow, mindful, and non-goal-oriented practices such as massage, breathing exercises, meditation, or ritual elements. It is important that such practices take place only with consent, respect, and without performance pressure. Tantra is not simply a “love art” in the sense of a basic sex style, but a multifaceted term with cultural and spiritual roots.
