Libragender
Libragender is a non-binary gender identity. People may describe themselves as libragender if they experience themselves primarily as agender, meaning without gender, while also feeling a partial or weak connection to a specific gender or to gendered qualities.
This connection can vary greatly from person to person: it may be stable, shifting, only faintly felt or dependent on the situation. Libragender therefore does not mean being “a little unsure”, but describes a specific way of experiencing gender in which being agender is central while a partial gendered alignment is still present.
Related microlabels include librafeminine and libramasculine. Librafeminine describes people who are mainly agender but feel partly connected to femininity or a feminine gender spectrum; libramasculine describes people who are mainly agender but feel partly connected to masculinity or a masculine gender spectrum. In sexuality, dating and BDSM, libragender says nothing about a person’s body, pronouns, roles, preferences or boundaries; what matters are self-description, respectful language and clear consent.
