Forniphilia
Forniphilia refers to a BDSM role-play in which a person is presented as “living furniture.” The person takes on a function related to an object, such as a table, stool, shelf, or decorative display. It is a form of objectification and control play that should only take place with clear consent and clearly defined limits.
Such scenes may include bondage, static poses, silent serving roles, or decorative presentation. The term is sometimes also used for similar display-based practices outside BDSM, for example when a person serves as a buffet or exhibition object. Particular caution is needed: pressure marks, circulatory problems, breathing restriction, and exhaustion must be avoided; longer or uncomfortable positions should only be used with breaks, monitoring, and an immediate way to stop.
Practices involving body openings, bodily waste, or wax/fire elements are not automatically part of forniphilia and significantly increase risk. They should only be carried out in clearly agreed, experienced contexts and with strict hygiene; some variants are fundamentally problematic for health and hygiene reasons and should not be attempted casually.
